Still Here and Working!

I am striking while the fire is hot! I've now published my fourth book entitled Camp Unity - Where Everyone Shines! This book I started back in 2010 or 2011 when my son was young and started attending the YMCA Claim Flaming Arrow in Hunt, TX that closed two years ago due to budget constraints. Sean loved attention camp so much. I would even get emotional at the closing ceremony when the kids would march in all smelly and dirty, chanting their songs. I didn't even know about camps when I was growing up in the 60s in New Orleans. The closest thing for camp to me was Kingsley House, that also served as my pre-school. Anyway, Camp Unity was going to be Color Me Friend until another author published a book by that name in 2024.

Camp Unity is an imaginary camp in Colorado where kids from every nationality go to learn about each other's cultures. To keep the book reasonably small, I could only feature five cultures - my own and four others. It is a beautiful book that teaches that humanity is like a beautiful fabric - stronger and more colorful because of every different threat.

I know you may wonder how I can complete so many books in. such a short time. I assure you that I'm not using AI to write the books for me. I can only say that my creative side is wide open right now and  I have the motivation to work on these stories. All of the books published thus far were outlined and had some chapters written. Each just needed to either be expanded upon, and or simplified  to adjust for a specific age group.

Currently I'm working on a new fiction novel - another book that I outlined 30 years ago. This story was actually sketched out on a napkin by me and a colleague sitting around a table in a little Irish bar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin enjoying an Irish breakfast beer. I can't remember the name of the place, the name of the beer, or the name of the colleague, I just remember where he worked at the time, Anyway, it is an intriguing story and I hope to have that book complete in the next few months.

I am  heading to New Orleans in a couple weeks to visit family, but will not be sitting on my laurels while there. I plan to continue to plug away at the new novel, while enjoying my time there!

Thanks again for following me!
